Toddler House 1 Update

This week in Toddler House 1 we worked really hard with our coin box. The Montessori coin box is a wooden box that has a small slit at the top for 6 little blue coins to pass through. The coin box is a great material for young toddlers to build fine motor skills, practice precision in their wrist and hand movements, increase concentration and reinforce their understanding of object permanence. Our coin box has a sliding drawer which adds extra fine motor work and coordination to grasp the the knob and slide the drawer to find the coins. The children loved mastering this material throughout the week, their ability to coordinate their movements and maintain concentration through all 6 coins was amazing to observe!
