Toddler 3 Update 12/3

Hello Toddler 3 Families!

We’ve had a fun week with our hibernation theme! We discussed the meaning of hibernation and which animals hibernate during the winter. It was hilarious listening to their answers to our open ended questions about how and where animals hibernate! One question was “where would you hibernate if you were a penguin?” Here are a few answers we received, “ in my bed, on my couch watching tv, in my truck, and outside by my swing!” Such imaginations! For art we made paper plate bears, handprint penguins, and a bear cave. They played all week in the sensory table that was filled with colored rice, penguins, bears, frogs, snakes and cardboard tubes. For our science experiment they tried to free penguins frozen in ice with their hands. When that didn’t work we poured salt and warm water on the frozen penguins and like magic the penguins were freed. We also worked on the letter K, number 13, and practiced singing some familiar Christmas songs. Tomorrow, is pajama day and we can’t wait to see all the cute jammies the children will be wearing! Next week’s theme is winter weather and we have some fun games and activities planned, so stay tuned!
