We have two children at RVM and we have loved being there. They provide appropriate learning activities and include so many fun adventures and activities throughout the year. The staff is amazing and treats our kids like their own. It is challenging to find care for children and we would highly recommend RVM!

We have had two children go to River Valley Montessori spanning 6 years and have had an amazing experience. They do a great job of ensuring they have the highest quality teachers that truly care about the well being of our kids. The staff has been clear with us as parents about how our children are progressing and are always up for offering guidance on making them the most successful! Finding a good care provider can be daunting but RVM has been a slam dunk for us!

Our son is 15 months and has been attending River Valley for just over a month and we are SO happy we made the decision to enroll him after switching from another daycare in the area. Our son has Hearing Aids and his teachers and Director, Ms. Delanie, have been so dedicated and attentive to his care plan. The enrollment specialist, Marissa, was fast, efficient and helpful and his teachers are fabulous - so caring and fun. Our son is so well taken care of and we love the learning themes each week, the art projects, the reading, and all of the special developmental sensory toys he has access to every day. We highly recommend RVM!

My children are so well cared for and loved by all the staff, the communication app is always great I know what each of them have done that day, and the classrooms always look so cute being decorated in the children’s art work! River Valley in Shakopee has been the best fit for our family for the last three years! We had no hesitation from day one leaving our son in the care of the infant teachers and have loved watching his progression all the way to the preschool classrooms. This center is staffed with some of the best there is and everyone is so kind and patient with the children. The director is also very hands on with all the children and communication from staff to parents has been great. We have loved the hybrid model between Montessori methods and traditional child education as well.

This school is much more than a daycare center. In less than a year my child has become such a great little human. His speech is excellent for being 2, he can count to 20 in English and 10 in Spanish. He knows his shapes and colors really well, animals, can sing his ABCs, and is potty trained. He loves his teachers and can’t wait to see his friends. The staff is very friendly and great at communicating. They have handled covid really well! Everyday we say how thankful we are for this school!!

Our son (3 years old) has been going here for about 2 years now. We absolutely love it at RVM. The teachers are all extremely nice and do a great job with the kids. Our son has learned so much while attending RVM and looks forward to going every day. They've been following all State mandates in regards to COVID-19 and have even gone above and beyond that to ensure the safety of the children, the staff, and the families.

The staff here is the best in the business! They know everything about our children's daily routines, personalities, development, and needs. They go above and beyond to keep our children safe, communicate with us, and help us feel 100% comfortable entrusting our kiddos to their care.
They also treat their staff very well and it shows in how happy the environment is, how invested they are in our children's lives, and that the only staff turnover they have is when teachers are promoted within the company!

River Valley Montessori has been a wonderful place for our oldest. He has learned and developed the skills necessary to start Kindergarten. The teachers are incredible and do a fantastic job with various activities to keep the kids engaged. RVM has been a great home away from home for our child. We made the switch to RVM from a common daycare franchise and noticed a big difference right away. Our child was 9mo. when we started at RVM and it quickly felt like home. They take the time to listen and work with you as a team to best meet your child's needs. The staff are very friendly and it's clear they have a passion for kids and providing great care. The company of RVM also shows a strong investment in their staff which helps to maintain consistency and high staff moral. RVM Excelsior was our first child care experience as a family and we are so grateful! The philosophy of child centered learning through play was clearly a priority and followed by the staff. Our child was always welcomed warmly and we were updated frequently as to how his day was going. The staff worked collaboratively with our family to problem solve challenges that presented during the day and respected our concerns and needs. Our child loved attending RVM- he enjoyed the songs, art projects, books, outdoor time, and many creative and fun activities provided. We also appreciated how attuned the staff were to our child's emotions and needs. We really felt like the staff knew and cared for our child. We highly recommend RVM Excelsior for families.

This place is amazing. Our toddler started at River Valley in April and we have had nothing but the best experience. He is our third child so we have experience with other child care facilities- this one absolutely takes the cake. The teachers truly care, management is hands on and the curriculum is top notch. You will notice when you walk in that it is calm. That level of calmness in the children and teachers speaks volumes- the teachers enjoy working there and the kids enjoy being there. River Valley in Excelsior is a safe, happy place and has been such a blessing for our family.

Our preschool-age son was among the first cohort at RVM in Excelsior, and we could not have been happier with our experience there! Beautiful, serene, newly-built space. Caring teachers and administration. He felt comfortable there from Day One. I was not familiar with the Montessori method before he started, but was so impressed to see how it helped him foster more independence in play and personal responsibility. I happily recommend RVM Excelsior to anyone. We miss it!

Our son has been at RVM Bloomington for 5.5 years, since he was 12 weeks old. He's grown up here, learning to to walk, learning the alphabet, shapes, sizes, lifecycles... He made all his friends at RVM. Now that we're moving to kindergarten, we're sad to leave but THANKFUL for our time here and for his teachers, especially Ms. Yasmin, who's been with him for the last 3 years, Ms. Jessica, Ms. Komal… and there are many others! We've been at RVM for 5 years and truly feel that each of my three kids are better because of the care they've received. Each of the rooms (infant, toddler and children's house) have staff that are professional, nurturing, patient, and genuinely invested in every child's well-being and development.

I highly recommend River Valley Montessori for your child care needs!! At River Valley they truly go above and beyond. They make sure to get to know your individual child’s personality and this really allows them to grow to the best of their full potential. As a parent we are always kept in the loop with daily communication, weekly curriculum and they do a great job at creating a positive and true ‘Montessori’ learning style.

I recently enrolled my 3-year-old son at Excelsior River Valley Montessori and I am extremely impressed with the level of care, education and attention that the teachers provide. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the classrooms are bright and inviting, with plenty of toys, learning materials and books.
The teachers are all highly passionate about their work, and they take the time to get to know each child individually, ensuring that their unique needs and learning styles are met. My son has already made a very significant amount of progress in his social, emotional and cognitive development since starting at River Valley Montessori. Enrolling my son at Excelsior River Valley Montessori is truly one of the best decisions I have made!
I also appreciate the school’s emphasis on hands-on, experiential learning. It’s clear that the staff truly care about creating a positive learning environment for the children and are dedicated to helping them achieve their full potential.
Overall, I HIGHLY recommend River Valley to any parents seeking a safe, welcoming and enriching learning environment for their child. You will not be disappointed if you enroll your child at River Valley Montessori in Excelsior!

We have been thrilled with our experience thus far (since May 2020) at RVM in Shakopee for our 2-year-old daughter! From the moment we reached out for information about the school, the staff has displayed professionalism and a true desire to educate and provide a safe and comforting environment for those in their care. Things I especially appreciate about RVM: they have a smaller toddler play area outside that’s separate from the slightly bigger preschool/kindergarten area, they communicate effectively with any updates to schedule/staff changes as well as throughout our child’s day—every single day our daughter is there, we can check-in to get a ‘real-time’ look into her day-with pics! We greatly appreciate that they invest in the education and training of their staff—it shows in the quality of the education and care provided as well as the multitude of things our daughter is learning (colors, counting, sorting) and the ways she is growing individually (introducing potty training) and socially with the other children.
I am not sure about the previous review left on here by a passerby stating assumptions about RVM’s handling of COVID-19. As both a parent and nurse, I can attest that the facility has done great work at preventing the spread of COVID and following the age-appropriate guidelines from the Minnesota Department of Health. I know this from inquiring with and talking to the director at the site as to what actions they are doing (including their specific communication with the MDH) to protect the children and staff at RVM, as well as through timely updates provided through the parent portal. Please don’t post accusations or inaccurate statements without first going to the source to inquire the facts—it’s not only misleading, but can inappropriately instill unnecessary fear into the community.
