This week in Childrens House 3 we had so much fun learning about recycling and our earth!
On Monday we painted our beautiful planet with a clothes pin and a cotton ball. We also found a little surprise from the Easter bunny!!
On Tuesday our friends created masterpieces with recycled materials! We discussed how we can reuse items at school and ate home to give them a second life and to reduce waste!
On Wednesday we discussed water pollution! I explained it as: “The fish live in our rivers, lakes, and oceans. If we throw trash into our waters, that’s just like someone putting trash in your home, your bed, and all over your toys” We then cleaned up our own “lake”.
On Thursday we talked about how we can clean up or earth, even if we didn’t make the mess ourselves. We then ventured outside with our gloves and bags and picked up all the garbage outside of our center!
On Friday we created our earth again with coffee filters! We colored the coffee filters with blue and green markers, then sprayed them with water and watched our colors marble together.
We also focused on our sight words, the letter Z, counting 1-60, and figuring out how to sort our trash into the recycling, compost, and garbage
