This week in Toddler House 2 we enjoyed talking about Thanksgiving!
Each day we focused on a different icon that surrounds the holiday! We loved learning about turkeys, corn, and boats!
We loved some fun practical life activities where we transferred feathers from a jar into a container with a small opening. This worked our pincer grasp and fine motor skills.
We also enjoyed being introduced to a dry pouring tray this week. We were presented with a small pitcher filled with corn kernels and a small bowl that was empty. Using concentration, hand/eye coordination, and precision skills we worked hard to pour from one container to the other. If we spilled any, we were shown how to clean it up properly to help build our independence skills!
To finish off the week we ended with a fun playdoh sensory project where we used our hands, playdoh, feathers, and google eye to create fun turkeys! We loved sharing our creations with each other and seeing everyone’s different versions of a turkey.
We had a fun week together and we look forward to a short but fun week next week!
