Toddler House 2

This week in Toddler House 2 we celebrated the fantastic fall!
We focused deeply on the nature of fall like leaves, pinecones, tress, and acorns this week together.
We started our week off by going on a scavenger hunt together on the playground. We used magnify glasses to get a closer look at all the items that had fallen off of trees over the past few weeks. We were able to collect an abundance of sticks, leaves, and pinecones. Together we discussed what we were finding and which trees they were coming from. We recognized how different trees have different leaf shapes and how each leaf was unique in its own way.
We touched and noted the differences between leaves that had fallen off the tree and leaves that were still attached. Noting that the leaves on the trees were a brighter color than the ones on the ground, and that the leaves that had fallen were much crunchier than the still growing leaves.
When finding pinecones we were excited to identify that pinecones were a bumpy texture! Much different feeling in our hands than the texture of the leaves.
This week was full of language and sensory development as we spent a lot of time outdoors and exploring the world around us. As we explore, we build our language skills by using descriptive words to express the world around us. What better way to learn about fall then to experience the great outdoors as the season changes! We look forward to learning more about fall next week together!
