Toddler House 2

This week in Toddler House 2 we celebrated dinosaurs! We love dinosaurs here and we are always excited to involve them in more of our daily works! We practiced our fine motor and practical life skills by participating in a work using clothes pins and a dino cut out. We worked hard to create a “pegosaurus” matching the corresponding clothespin to the correct color spot of the dino. For expanding our language skills this week we were introduced to some new color tablets, we were introduced to the orange, green and purple color tablets. We used these to help identify colors of small dinos we had and to match them. We explored our artistic sides by using dinosaurs to create art! We were provided with dinos and a small plate of paint, using the figurines we stomped them into the paint and created colorful dino foot prints all around our papers. We enjoyed two fun sensory and science experiments this week, the first we used playdoh to create fossils of dinosaurs. We talked about how fossils are made and looked at some pictures of real fossils! We ended our week with a fun volcanic eruption! Using baking soda and vinegar (and a little bit of food coloring), we watched a homemade volcano erupt before our eyes! We watched as the “lava” rushed down the sides and covered the ground and dinosaurs living below. We had a great time this week exploring dinosaurs and are looking forward to learning more and more as we enter the upcoming school year!
