Children’s House 4

Hello CH4 Families, we have (nearly) completed our first full week together! It has been wonderful getting to know the kiddos. I am so excited to watch them learn and grow! This week’s theme was outer space! We explored and learned about planets, the moon, the sun, stars/constellations, and astronauts. For literacy, we practiced writing space words, matched rhyming rockets, matched letter/letter sound rockets, worked on alien pre-writing tracing, and made name constellations and name rockets. For math, we matched counting/number rockets, did space patterns, matched alien shapes, did star counting with Play-Doh, and traced a number count down. For art and science/sensory, we learned the order of the planets, learned the moon phases, did a moon phase cut and paste activity, and made moons, suns, planets, stars, and galaxies. For music/movement, we did space yoga and scarves in space. Next week, we will explore colors and shapes!
There is now a shelf in the entryway of our classroom and on top of that shelf there is a bin with your child’s art/picture/communication folder. Please check this folder a few times a week and bring home the items inside.
