Hello Ch2 Families,
Space Week Round 2 has been out of this world! There are so many fun space songs it’s hard to choose our favorite – “Rocket Ship Run” and “Moon, Moon, Moon” by Laurie Berkener have to be my top picks. Friends used the big blocks and cardboard to make rocket ships. We had a blast practicing our large motor skills during Space Yoga and Space Obstacle Course. Ch2 had the opportunity to use the globe and “moon” to practice moving the moon around the Earth and the Earth moves around the sun. We colored planets, stars, asteroids etc and made posters about what we would find in space. We discussed the difference between a gas planet and a rocky planet and did a cool experiment with baking soda and vinegar. We talked about spheres and circles then made moons out of paper plates by coloring with markers and using water to blend the colors. Next week, we will be focusing on spring!
