Children’s House 1 Update 12/11

Hello CH1 families,
We had a lot of fun this week learning all about winter weather! Although it was weird talking about winter without snow and it not being very cold, we still made the most of it and had fun! On Monday, we introduced our theme, built some bears, did a freezing experiment, and transfer work. On Tuesday, we made colorful snowflakes out of coffee filters and food coloring, colored the number 8 and letter J, and matched colors to our giant ornaments. On Wednesday, we made a winter night sky by mixing paint colors and then mixing glitter with the paint and using bubble wrap to add texture. We also traced the number 8 and letter J and did a snow volcano experiment. On Thursday, we sang a song for a video for our friends and family since there won’t be a winter program this year, we threw snowballs and counted them, had a snowball Alphabet toss game, and watched a snow storm happen in a jar. On Friday, we created a winter hand print tree, did a mitten color sorting activity, built snowflakes out of marshmallows, and watched candy canes fizz. We had a very fun fulfilled week and we can’t wake to continue with our winter themes! Next week we will be learning all about winter sports and we have some fun things planned. Enjoy your weekend!
Ms. Mikayla and Ms. Mindy
