Children’s House 1

This week in CH1 we  continued to working on pre- writing skills using a variety of works.
Pre-writing skills are the fundamental skills children need to develop before they are able to write.
Pre-writing activities for preschoolers not only help our young preschoolers learn the shape and structure of the letters in the alphabet, but they also serve a number of other functions as well. Pre-writing practices teach directionality in writing, encourages fine muscle development and coordination, and also helps students process sensory information critical to the writing process. These skills contribute to the child’s ability to hold and use a pencil, and the ability to draw, write, copy, and color. A major component of pre-writing skills are the pre-writing shapes. These are the pencil strokes that most letters, numbers and early drawings are comprised of.
